Is it continiouslty lawful or unlawful to allow son to visit his mum

For caregivers it is most likely referring to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards that protect people from certain practices in nursing homes. I don't know how this would apply to a son visiting unless there was no valid reason to keep him away. If the son was creating a disturbance or the patient or guardian said he couldn't visit, then it wouldn't be a violation of the patient's rights. If the home was locking residents in and others out without reason, then it would be.

If you mean DoLS in the UK:
The DOL Safeguards should not be used if the main reason is to restrict contact with individuals who may cause the person harm. If it is believed to be in a person’s best interests to limit contact an application should be made to the Court of Protection (see DH, 2010).
