Find Care & Housing
Hi belle, welcome. Sorry about both dad's and mum's diagnoses. It's s a double whammy. Sounds like mum will need regular help and dad will need care and hospice. That's a lot to expect of yourself. Do look at what is best for them and also what is best for you. Both your parents will need an increasing amount of care and it may become too much for you. I agree with others that facility care for them both may be the right solution. Wishing you well i your caregiving journey.

Yes, Hospice can be brought in to their AL. That way when the Hospice Nurse and aide are not there, the AL staff is. Home Hospice is mostly on the family. Nurse comes maybe 2x a week. Aide 3x to bathe. The rest of the time a family member needs to be there unless u hire an aide.

Mom cannot live alone. Better to keep her in an AL and work into Memory care or Long-term care. Whichever is affordable.

Welcome...
Bringing your dad home is a wonderful plan as long as you can care for him as well as mom.
Mom having the cognition problems she has will NOT get better and will continue to decline. She should not live alone.
It might be better if you can get them both into a facility that has both Assisted Living AND Memory Care. That way they can both be in AL, Hospice can help when and if you decide on Hospice and as mom declines she can transition to Memory Care.
