NEXT STEP: Estimating Monthly Income
Identify the monthly income that can be used to pay for assisted living: (complete all that apply)
Retirement accounts include employer plans and individual plans - such as IRA's, 401k's and Keogh plans - whereby retirement funds saved over the years can be accessed upon retirement age.
A pension is a contracted agreement from an employer for a fixed sum to be paid regularly to an employee, typically following retirement from service.
Investment income is any type of financial gains that are realized from any type of investment made by an individual or business.
Investment income may be in the form of interest, dividend payments issued in connection with stock ownership, or any other type of capital gains that are realized from any type of security.
Life insurance, annuities and other financial/insurance products may provide monthly payouts throughout retirement. Depending on the product, monthly payments may continue through a specified time period, or as long as the purchaser lives.
Are there additional funds from family members that will be contributed to help cover the costs of assisted living? If so, input the amount here.
Other income may include rental income, royalties, or any other form of monthly income - not accounted for above - that can be used to help pay for assisted living costs.
Assets can be factored in to help you determine how many years of assisted living you can afford, based on rates in your area. If you plan on selling assets to help pay for assisted living, please include the estimated value below.
