My stepdad appointed me as his POA. but now I would like to transfer the POA to his sons. I don't know how to go about doing this legally without having to hire an attorney. Please advise.

I would think that should depend upon how far the dementia has progressed. If you are newly diagnosed, ask your doctor to certify that you can still make such a decision. That should go a long way for you. You may need a one time attorney to do the changes, but with a doctor's opinion, I wouldn't think that would be hard. Someone who is in the later stages of dementia would probably need more legal help. Good luck,
