Well is she really sick and dying? I mean how much help you can give, I would think would depend on her mobility & health. For example, if she's able to get into a car and take a ride, then that's what I would do. But if she's laying in bed and can't get up or out, then that's another thing entirely. You may have to think outside the box.
I don't think there is anything you can do to take someone's mind off being sick and dying. Do you think she is in the last days? If you are around her and she wants to talk, the best gift would probably be to listen to her. Make sure she is comfortable and has the things she needs. And let her know that you care about her. People can tell which employees really love what they are doing. That you asked about her says to me that you are one who does. Please let us know how it goes.
