We have had my mother n law commited twice.The first time she was talking about killing herself she is 74.We had called the corners office they kept her for 2wks put her on some meds.Came home on a Monday Tue.started her day program came home that nite.She was out of control hitting ,cursing,taking her clothes off just very bad.Her husband also has parkinsons so we are getting it from both sides.So she left the house we live out in the woods she went in we couldnt find her she wouldnt answer.The cops came with the search dogs.They found her and they took her off again.Stayed another 2wks changed her her meds.They seem to help but they are saying 24/7 care nursing home.They both cant leave together .So its just trying to figure out how to pay for care and to make her go.They own a house paid for 27 acres all paid for.We also live on some of there land in a house that is in their name.We did talk to some one about reverse mortage open to any answers about that.It sounds alright but just dont know.So I hopr someone can give us a way to go .Thank you for reading this.They say she has Alzheimer's and Dementia
Regardless, she needs a safer placement in a lock-down facility so that she does not escape and hurt herself...this is way beyond what you can do at home. They need to work with her meds until she is able to function in a calm way, but not be drugged into zombiehood.
Their home and property should be sold and used for their care. If your market is down, a reverse mortgage may work...just be careful and read all the fine print.
