I need someone to pick my mother up 3 to 4 nights a week and bring her home after visiting the NH. Any suggestions?

My father is in a nursing home 10 miles from her home. I need someone to pick her up and bring her home 3 to 4 nights a week.

JFG, is this your mother or father? Why is he/she in a nursing home, and how would that need be achieved by returning home 3 - 4 nights a week?

Your profile states that you're caring for your father, who has Alz/dementia. Are you aware how disruptive this could be to him or her, to be going back and forth?

If he/she can be returned home, what is the need for the nursing home? Is it just day care?

I think these are the first issues to address before finding a transportation company.

I'm also not sure if the nursing home staff would agree to this arrangement. Anything could happen at home, "not on their watch", so there could easily be liability issues that arise.

It would be helpful if you provided more information on the situation and your desire to bring him/her home some nights.

So, your dad is in a facility and mom want to visit several evenings a week, but has no transportation? Is that the problem?

What are mom's resources? Can she take a cab or an Uber? Are there volunteers at her church who would be willing to help out?

Is this a long term placement?
My sincere apologies. I misread your post and misinterpreted your question.

There are small bus and point to point services if you're in an area where public transit is available. Sometimes there are no other passengers, especially on a point to point trip. Costs are nominal, so that might be a good option.

What is available is going to depend on where you live, in my area you can access volunteer drivers through our local home care agency - there is a small fee to cover mileage.
I wonder if there are any possibilities of a car pool with other spouses of residents of the facility. Just thinking... you might have to work with the facility to find this out, but they wouldn't be able to provide confidential information on relatives of other patients, so perhaps some kind of flyer or notice in the daily activities publications might work.
Gardenartist thanks for your response. we go everyday i just need a break a few nights a week. im getting wore out work all day then going to the nh. its the most expensive top end home in Pittsburgh and i only seen a couple of visitors for the other patient. they ran in and out as fast as they could, how do i get in touch with the point to point services you mentioned?
I understand; visiting can be exhausting, emotionally and physically.

But, bingo! Here's a link to what you need to know about point to point service, a/k/a paratransit, a/k/a small bus and probably different names at other different transit authorities. Fourth category of service description at this URL:

The phone number is (412) 562-5353 or PA Relay 711. Office hours are 8:00 A.M-4:30 P.M., Monday through Friday.

Good luck!
I would try Uber or Lyft. If she can't use the app on a smart phone, she could call you and you could do it.
If that doesn't work, can you or she afford to hire a CG from an agency for this.. it would maybe be only an hour a trip. It would be worth it for the break! They are bonded, etc with the agency, and can use their own cars or Mom's. Good luck!
