I am the father of a son in H.S. and a daughter in college and I work about 70 to 80 hours a week. I have a brother and sister, who live very far away, so the care falls on me. My mother is 89 years old. She lives in her own home alone and I see her on Fridays and am available for emergencies. It is a tremendous burden on me.

My mother is extremely selfish and miserly. She is very well off financially, but tells everyone she is destitute and that her family will not help her, so she receives a lot of undeserved benefits for the "elderly poor." She saves over 50% of her social security. She has no will or power of attorney and will not cooperate on anything, and just wants me to "do my duty." She is abusive and no one in my family can stand to be around her. Is there a social worker or similar third party I can contact to explain the situation and who can intercede between me and my mother? (Arizona)
