I am new to caregiving. My Mom is 79 and my Dad is 83. She recently broker her shoulder and requires a great deal of care. He has several health issues, can't not see or hear well and is unable to drive. I want to meet with a group of people who discuss issues and get both advise and support.

Find Care & Housing
A couple of places to start would be your local division of agency. It is should be found in your county government structure. I have found a few contacts from the public library. Hopefully one of these will help you get started. Caregiving is very isolating. You are right to reach out. Good luck.

Area Agency on Aging is the place here in our county that provides services for the elderly and their caregivers. One of the churches in our community hosts a support group once a month for caregivers. Also, an assisted living facility in town used to have a support group but discontinued --- lack of participation. Hopefully there is an agency or representative for the elderly in your community. If you don't know of one, I'd contact the Department of Human Services or your local welfare office. Good luck!
