What should I do when my mother asks me questions about her routine in the morning when she was living in her apartment?

Perhaps she needs to move back into the apartment? Why did she move in with you? If she was doing fine with her routine why the move?

It's pretty typical for elders -- especially those in various stages of dementia -- to lose track of routines when they change environments. Even a move from one room to another in a nursing home can flummox them. It's disorienting on so many levels. And if they have been depending on routine for help in hiding loss of function (even from themselves), it becomes more routine. Maybe now is the time to get her to a doctor and get her assessed. Sometimes meds can really help, either with dementia in early stages or depression. Both seem likely now. Good luck to you both!
