she rentle moved into my house. She lived in my apartment in the back. Since she has moved in it's like she forgets when she takes her bath, cannot open simple packages, forgets what the medecine on the microwave is for which was a routine for her two weeks ago in the apartment. I get aggravated with her. I do not want her to be dependent on me. She is 86 years old and is in good health.

Perhaps she needs to move back into the apartment? Why did she move in with you? If she was doing fine with her routine why the move?

It's pretty typical for elders -- especially those in various stages of dementia -- to lose track of routines when they change environments. Even a move from one room to another in a nursing home can flummox them. It's disorienting on so many levels. And if they have been depending on routine for help in hiding loss of function (even from themselves), it becomes more routine. Maybe now is the time to get her to a doctor and get her assessed. Sometimes meds can really help, either with dementia in early stages or depression. Both seem likely now. Good luck to you both!
