Need someone to stop by my mother's home 2-3 times a day for several weeks due to her foot being broken and her ability to move around is limited. Bring food, help with driving to doctor etc. What does this type of care cost? Is it covered by medicare? Thank you, Becky Bruce

Find Care & Housing
Unless your mother is on Medicare and had a recent hospital stay, her care would not be covered. If so, ask you social worker at the hospital which services are available to her.
I pay a caregiver anywhere from $12 - 18/hr, depending on their skill and experience, for personal care and running errands. They can also take Mom to the doctor if necessary.
If you do not live in the same town, I would recommend using a reputable agency in your area. They screen applicants and can send over someone right away. You will pay slightly more if you use an agency.
good luck
