Has anyone heard of a "rotating chair bed?" A photo of one can be found here:

Basically it's a hospital bed where the mattress rotates 90 degrees and then folds into a chair. They are meant for people who can't get themselves in and out of bed but can walk on their own. That's my mother. She could avoid assisted living for a while if she could get in and out of bed by herself.

So far, I've only found these things in the UK. Was hoping to find an American distributor.

Thanks for your help!

I just had to look that up, what an interesting concept. The only supplier I could find that included a price listed it at $7K, and that model looked very basic in comparison to the ones I saw featured on YouTube.

Med-Mizer makes a similar bed called the Pivot Rehab (aka turn bed). The feedback from users, family members, and caregivers has been tremendous. Most like the unique way to safely enter and exit (egress) the bed.

Theraposture based in the UK, will help you. They provide all the work needed to get your Rotaflex to the US. The exchange rate is good now too!
