Medical expenses, including the cost of medically necessary home health care, are deductible to the extent they exceed 7.5% of Adjusted Gross Income.

What if you are paying for private duty home health aides and no taxes are deducted?

If you are paying aides "off the books" then legitimately deducting the expenses may be problematic.
