Not all peripheral neuropathy is due to diabetes - it could be that but from some other cause. (That said, has her fastign blood sugar been checked and OK? ) It could be also poor circulation, it could also be arthritis affecting the feet. Especially if there is weakness or any bowel or bladder change, it could be nerve root compression from the disks in the back. The nerve could even be compressed in the feet (look up tarsal tunnel syndrome). This defintiely needs medical diagnostic attention as many causes could be serious and/or treatable.
