Is there money available to pay myself for caring for mother at my home?

To answer your question: no, there is very little in the way of federal government assistance. I think the main reason is that unpaid, family caregivers take up the slack, so why pay us?
You might want to check into local programs in your city, county, or state. Start with your locak "office on aging" for a referral. Also, I rely on our hospital's social workers for advice.
