My mother went to hospital with chills and complaining of being freezing. Even though tem was 77 and she was dressed warmly. Nothing found.ad took her to emergency room. The episode passed after an hour. Does this happen to someone who is 90 often without an illness?

Well for one thing the normal body temperature is supposed to be 98.6 so if she is only 77 degrees, then she IS cold I would say. I know I would be.

sounds like its me ! i get low grade fever and i do freeze . my back would stiffen up , the only way i can get warm is to get in warm-hot water tub to thaw me out from the inside of my body .
there is a reason for her to be so cold . make sure that the house is warm and no cool air blowing on her . i know people have the air on during the summer and in the winter time the house is not warm enuff . i feel for elders cuz i do get cold ,

It was a warm day. Inside it was 77 and she was dressed warmly with a sweater too. It was above 80 outdoors. It was she visible shivering that worried my Dad. The episode passed before anyone at emergency really looked at her. Never the less it was several hours before she left.

The 77 degrees was not referring to her temp but the room temp. Her temp checked out normal.

I arrived at thie site when wondering why I was getting intermittent chills mostly in my upper body and arms, and found that someone else had similar synptoms. I guess I'll have to see the doctor if they continue. I wondered if it had a physical underlying cause.
