I have a problem with eye pain. It started about a year ago. At that time I was given the basic lubricating eye drops which helped for a short time. Eventually one plug was put into each eye. This too did not help. I was then given various medications including Fluorometholone. Eventually I was put on Restasis which I am now using.

I have been using Restasis now for 3 months. My eyes are still giving me a lot of problems. When I wake up in the morning my eyes feel fine.but as the day goes by my eyes start to hurt until it becomes practically unbearable. I have been using a wet compress which is soothing as long as I keep it on..
Any suggestions on what might help?

I'm glad you're getting medical help with this. Please continue to seek medical treatment and even change doctors if you must.
When thinking about comfort, I remember the old "trick" of cool tea bags on the eyes. Also cut cucumber slices are thought to soothe the eyes. Both are used keeping the eyes closed, of course. You may want to ask your doctor if these are okay to try for comfort.
Good luck!
