NAPLES, Florida — June 16, 2014 — has launched, a new interactive, educational website that for the first time tells the candid, personal stories of people living with Alzheimer’s disease. offers a unique opportunity to learn what it really feels like to live with this degenerative disease.

“While the majority of industry groups are focused on research and funding, care approaches and support for family caregivers, we are missing a very important voice — the voice of those living with Alzheimer’s,” says Joe Buckheit, president of “It is difficult to provide the care and support that more than 5 million Americans with Alzheimer’s deserve without truly understanding what they are going through. finally fills this gap.”

To date, there is still no cure for Alzheimer’s, and unlike heart disease, stroke or diabetes, it is not preventable. aims to give a voice to people with Alzheimer’s, so their family members and friends are armed with the information they need to provide the best care possible. At the same time, by showing the faces of Alzheimer’s, hopes to break down societal stereotypes associated with the disease.

“People with Alzheimer’s are not a diagnosis or statistic – we have feelings, thoughts and dreams. We want to enjoy our lives and continue contributing to our communities,” says Rick Phelps, a contributor who lives with Early-Onset Alzheimer’s disease. “ gives us a platform to tell our story, to ask society to take a second and listen to what we have to say.” shares the personal experience of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and their family caregivers.
