My parents divorced when I was very young and my mom was pretty bitter towards my father. She would think about the past and become depressed. She has dementia now and has had a stroke so is in a NH. While visiting with her one day, her mood changed, and she became very serious and said, "For the life of me, I can't remember Paul's name!" Paul is my father's name! No bitter discussion followed!
