My mother still knows my name but she forgets that I am her daughter. While back ago she started calling me "mom" I would correct her and say "I am your daughter". One day, she looked at me and said "yes, I know your my daughter, I call you mom because you love me and take care of me like a mom". When she calls me "mom" now I understand and it reassures me I am doing the best I can to care for her!!
