I have a question, my dad is about to come back home after being in a nursing home facility for six months, he is paralyized, no control obviously with bowels, and partially blind, anyway he is on medicaid, and he has to forfeit all but a few dollars of his money his patient share is takes all his social security, and all but a few dollars of his pensions. Normal I know, but my question is when he gets home will medicaid retake a look at his financial situation and not take quite so much? He has visiting nurses 55 hours a week paid through medicaid, but I wonder if they don't let him have some of his money back, how will he pay for food, electricity, taxes, heating fuel and the list goes on. Or is this something his children are now going to have to pay for? He is on Vermont Medicaid.
