I recently stayed at a local hotel in my area for one night, to re-charge my batteries.

I was amazed at how much energy it gave me; just to get away by myself for a night. My mother had a paid caregiver, so she was well taken care of. A little bit of "self-care" can go a long ways. I hope all of you fellow caregivers can get some time away to recharge. One problem I've had with myself since I started caregiving, is that I've had trouble making even small decisions about myself. I'd make plans for myself, then cancel, etc. I am going to try to take a more positive attitude, and especially with the warmer weather now in most parts of the country, that is a big help. Mom really enjoys going outside. I think the sun makes us all feel better. I enjoy reading this website a lot, and look forward to reading about you great folks!
