I am beyond being able to continue to care for my mother here at home. I just can't do this anymore.

I am praying for you. Have you considered getting a companion or nursing assistant to help out while you wait for an opening. You can contact your states Area on Aging and see if you are eligible for any of their respite services.

Thank you for your prayers. I have a sitter who comes in as needed (usually here 2 - 3 times a week) and hospice sends an aide in 3 times a week for bathing. And of course I feel that should be enough help but I'm just mentally and emotionally stressed to the max. So far nothing available thru Aging in our state - legislation approved it but no funding yet.
