New York Times has an article today detailing the account of a patient whose nursing home is seeking guardianship despite her husband's having POA. Just what I needed today!
Article goes on to state that many homes do this.
The title of the article is: To Collect Debts, Nursing Homes Are Seizing Control Over Patients. You can probably Google the Title and get the hit to read the article for free...they give you a free 'shot'.
Given how guilty my mom's doctor made me feel a few days ago, I'm wondering just how far these 'businesses' will go today.

One of the many things I did not understand was the large amount of copay even though on Medicaid? Is that true also? $4,000 plus a month as a copay?
