Will living in an assisted living facility disqualify a parent from applying for life insurance?

I don't know why it would, in itself. Possibly pre-existing conditions would disqualify the person, or make premiums higher. Age makes premiums higher.

Why does this person need life insurance? Does he or she have someone financially dependent on them -- a spouse or a disabled child?

If the main concern is funeral expenses, prepaying those directly might be a better option.
