The other thing you may want to consider that buying property "as is" may lead to having no right to contest what you bought without challenging upfront. May not be an easy thing after-the-fact, but I would still check with uour state's consumer protection AG's office. It can't hurt to ask and present your complaint. At least, I don't think so.

You don't mention what state you are in, but you may want to file a complaint with your state's Office of the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Complaints may be filed online, usually at no cost to the consumer. You will just need to have your dates, costs and chronology straight and the name and contact information for the vendor. It is always best to include evidence that you have made reasonable attempts to seek redress by working directly with the vendor to request repayment or remedial action. Those offices are usually good. Also consider checking the Better Business Bureau online and/or locally for additional guidance on your options in addition to pro bono legal services. Being a caregiver is struggle enough without adding to your stress. Also growing older makes everything a lot more complicated. Good luck to you in finding a fair solution to your problem.

I wish we could help you directly, but this is out of our power. There are elder attorneys who may help you. If you contact your state bar association and ask about an attorney who will work free, as you don't have funds to pay, they may be able to help you.

I hope you find help.
