Thanks for the article, Rick. I know I worry a lot about getting dementia, and for me I think it is because I had studied up on it so much that I am overreacting if anything feels off for a moment.

A lot of this is stress related, just work overload back when I was trying to help my parents who at the time were in their mid-to-late 90's. I was thrown into a job I had no training or skill. This just wasn't my thing. My parents could afford to pay for help around the house, they just wouldn't blow the dust off the portfolio to pay for anything. Plus I was a senior citizen myself with my own age decline and various health issues. Like who would pick me up if I fell? My parents were exhausting.

My Dad has dementia which seems like it came on quick, but I bet he probably he had it for awhile but I didn't really notice. Dad seems content and still has his sense of humor, so that in itself makes me smile.

My mother has had symptoms of dementia for 9 years. It progressed this year and I was horrified until I realized that her dementia was more scary for me than for her. Despite her confusion she is mostly happy and finds joy in life. I was afraid that I would get it too but if I can be as comfortable and relaxed as she is I have nothing to fear.
