Thank you so very much for this information. I have tried to get my husband to talk with me but he cannot form his information any longer. The idea that he might be content when the TV is on even though he's staring out the window is hugh. Thank you thank you, Sandie

Mr. Phelps, thanks once again for an excellent article. It is good seeing articles from the other side of the table, from the person who is dealing with memory issues themselves. You made a lot of very good points in this article.

This is the best article l have ever read on dementia and in my opinion very accurate! I find great comfort in this because l have 3 siblings that refuse to help with mom, mom but on occasion will visit, and do all the things that they feel they want to do, an refuse any of my suggestions! When they leave, mom then has a melt down, and is impossible to deal with! I have been living in moms home for 2 1/2 yrs. & have a bipolar son living in my home 40min. away! This is a sacrafice for me, that my family feels is self induced, because they wanted to put mom in a nursing home! I thought she deserved better than that! I have found all the 3 back a to be true! It took me awhile to find them tho! So for all of you care givers out their, this information should be a God send!
