My Resperate stopped working after 3 months. The display froze. The Resperate company would not fix or replace the unit. It was an expensive (+/- $350.00) lesson. This is not a reputable company.

My husband and I tried the beet juice powder. After about three months use, my husband acquired a puffy, reddish face. He didn’t look like the same person. The ER doctor said that it could be an accumulated sensitivity to the beets (the only new thing in his life). After he stopped, it took a few months to return to normal. Then the Zona Plus. We used it most of 2020. After a trip away, we came home and sat down to restart our Zona program. My husband continued to have elevated blood pressure. We can’t start up our usage again. Zona has blocked our use of this personally purchased and owned tool unless we “register”. We don’t want to do that. I called Zona to complain and was told the supervisor would call me within 48 business hours. Today is the end of that timeframe. No phone call. Conclusion: Zona Plus is a scam: Their website does not say that after a period of time using the tool that they will block usage until the owner registers the unit on-line. They arbitrarily “updated” all Zona units to be blocked until it got registered. However, around the first of October, my husband and I decided to lose the excess weight we carried. Simply no flour and no sugar. That’s it. Within one week my husbands blood pressure went from an average of 159/87 or 135/85 to 108/78!!! And he has maintained those numbers.

A whole foods, plant-based diet is the easiest and healthiest way to keep your blood pressure in a reasonable range. http://nutritionfacts.org/video/how-to-prevent-high-blood-pressure-with-diet/

I'd much rather eat a wide range of veggies and fruits and lots of whole foods carbs (potatoes, corn, rice) and low/no oil instead of taking a pill. Today I talked with a woman who's had one heart attack and is on a slew of pills and now may have rhabdomyolysis (muscle wasting) from the statins she's on for cholesterol. She'd rather keep her lousy diet than cut out all of the pills. I don't get it! It's easy to eat healthy these days! And tasty too!!

Interesting article. I love pomegranate juice but I usually mix it with low alcohol beer. I wonder how much pomegranate juice a day is effective?

This is a good article but I tried drinking beet juice cause I'd heard that it was good for preventing glaucoma. But its ghastly tasting. Its like that gag feeling you get when you take cough syrup. I've still got almost a whole bottle of it in my fridge. I should just pour it down the sink cause blech.

All the other suggestions are just good common sense. Too bad common sense is not that common.

This is interesting information, John. The first set of lifestyle changes make sense. Eat a healthy mixed diet, get exercise, drink moderately if at all, etc.

But personally, I'd rather take a little pill than drink 2 cups of beet juice a day. :) Can we condense that into tablet or capsule form? Could I just eat beets instead? To be a realistic solution, the recommendation has to be sustainable. Can't see myself dropping other carbs in order to drink 60+ carbs a day from beet or pomegranate juice.

I love tea, but hibiscus tea is not, of course, tea -- it does not grow on a tea tree. It is an herbal infusion. Which is fine, if you like hibiscus herbal infusions. If you don't, forcing down three cups a day isn't my idea of a pleasant way to pass the day. And if you don't enjoy your days, what's the point?

And as I think about my 95 yo mother with dementia, the idea of getting her to drink 3 cups of beet juice and/or hibiscus tea per day is ludicrous.

I'm glad these natural regimens are working for you. I really am. Can't quite imagine following in your footsteps, though. Thanks for sharing your journey.

This was very helpful considering I have very high blood pressure and am working on lowering it naturally. I also am experimenting with Holy Basil, Cinnemon, and Longetivity spinach, also trying to get more regular with aerobic exercise.
