I agree captain. I am Mom's POA but either way it's best to try and work with the staff. They do take good care of my mother and I respect them for this and am grateful. It takes time to build trust and a good rapport. It's not about us or them, it's about what is best for our LO.

im not even my aunts poa but i enjoy a mutually respectful relationship with the staff .
not being poa , i dont have any weight to throw around so they dont see me as a threat . they feel like im just on the same teem as them . poa's should take notice of that . you and staff are on the same teem . well played , michelle . you dont tell people anything , you SHOW them .
i can easily see where coca cola would dissolve and wash down a pbj .

Thank you MikeGood. We know our LO's best. There comes a time when quality is more important than quantity. I think we all want the same thing, to keep mom happy. It's not always easy but well worth the effort.

That's a very lovely picture of Mom. This is a great example of how we have to advocate for our family and friends who may not be able to do so for themselves. Michele, thanks for sharing this example of how what "was not right for Mom" was actually the best thing for her.
