I don't see the point in orientating a person with dementia to actual place and time if all it does is agitate the person. In fact, I think it's rather ridiculous to declare that therapeutic lying is unethical when there is no hope for the person to regain cognitive function. Would these same people declare it unethical to therapeutically lie to children too young to understand the gravity of a situation? Probably not. Or maybe yes in which case I'd wonder about how ethical they are. It seems to me that people in ivory towers ought to come down from them before making blanket statements about ethics.
