I agree that we need to be more cautious. This is a MAJOR surgery!!!!!!!! With the last 20 years or so of DRG'S, hospitals are in a hurry to push you out, so that they do not lose money! In the long run I knew this would catch up with someone or many someones! When the patient is not the focus and MONEY is the bottom line, you never win! We have gone from one extreme to the other. And with DRG's , it has left little incentives for hospitals to provide TRUE individualization. We say that is what we do, but in reality, that is NOT what usually happens! That is my opinion, from my experiences both as a medical professional and as a patient!

More Seniors Going Under The Knife to Get New Knees
