I plan on taking my parents (79 & 80) to a local minor league baseball game this summer. When I mentioned it, I was surprised they both were excited about going! It's nice because the "stadium" is much smaller than the National League and there's not a bad seat in the house. They do like to go out for ice cream too. Check in your neighborhood-Baskin Robbins is suppose to have $1.31 ice cream scoops today because it's the 31st of the month! :)

very good ideas. I work as an activities coordinator in the hospital of a care facility for elderly residents and it is difficult to keep coming up with new ideas as most of the residents are limited in their capabilities.

If it's really hot outside and you're at your home (with your elder... mom or dad, husband or wife), I highly recommend the mister from ACE that you connect to a hose... easy, cheap, refreshing... since a lot of elders can't get into a shower, they'll really enjoy it... my 86 yr old mother loves it...

Ever since the weather has warmed we are able to plant flowers and add ceramic critters in the yard. My mother just loves it. She stays outside and deadheads the flowers every day including watering and sweeping the patio. We also have a waterfall in the back yard that is so relaxing for her. The critters consist of frogs, moose, snails, hummingbirds on a stick, rabbits; where most have a smile on their faces which make her laugh every time she sees them. The arthritis in her neck (the pain) is less frequent as well. It's amazing!

My mom has rediscovered her love of baseball and loves to watch it on TV. I hope to get her to a local AAA team's game soon!

We still go riding our motorcycle, she still loves it. And now our Car Club is back in swing, I try to get her out as much as possible.It's never easy, but what am I to do. Saturday night after dinner at the Moose, the band starts and I can't get her to stop. Music just puts her in another world. All I can do is watch so she doesn't bother anyone. Mornings seem to be the best and it's slowly goes down hill as the day is long. Just another Day.................
