I have done a lot of caregiving, but here is a bit about myself that might help someone. I have Celiac. I had pain with every meal for almost 50 years! Then my uncle who was a professional chef and trained baker tested possitive for Celiac, He said "I did not know my trade would kill me". Celiac is more than digestive, some people have seizures, etc. from "this is your brain on wheat". I went by two trains and a taxi to an allergist, my life was much improved after diagnosis. First eliminate all wheat, barley and rye. Some can have oats it is a topic of discussion. But the rice based mixes are great. There are even Gluten Free double stuffed Oreos that are clearly marked as such. This is a great decade to be diagnosed as there are so many brands like Tate's Chocolate Chip Cookies, again read for the clearly marked Gluten-Free ones. A yellow cake mix marked GF can make any sort of cake you want, add the Jello pudding of your choice, or cocoa or any other fun cake flavoring. Also, the icing in the cans are GF. All other foods, eggs, salad, meats, chicken and fruit are naturally Gluten-Free or GF as we say. Also, some people do not digest wheat well but have not had a diagnosis with the blood test, see what works for the person. Many feel better without wheat. If you need fiber Cit-Tra-Cil is fiber from tangerines and is much better for comstipation than the grain based products. Also, some people cannot have a lot of dairy. Go dairy free or a bit of whipped cream has much less lactose than milk. Also, for everyone, but some real coffee in that BOOST bottle, there is room for it. Stay hydrated and stay well. Coffee and Tea are naturally GF. And so is Rock 'n' Roll and Mozart! Wishing ya'll a long life!
