I read or heard that microwaves will kill germs and tp microwave cutting surfaces for 15 seconds will clean them. Does heating previously cooked food in microwave kill germs without heating to 160 F?
Great Information for people with low immune system, caregivers n the elderly. Thanks always interesting in trying to improve or keeping my health n my mil with alz to stay in good health as much as possible. We have to make sure our mil washes her hands with warm soapy water before meals n after each use of the bathroom. However, it is hard to keep n eye on her every-time she goes in/out of the bathroom. All I can do is try n keep her n I safe from germs and bacteria as much as possible.
People need to keep food hot or cold for serving...40 degrees or below and 140 degrees or above after properly prepared. Also, seniors tend to have a harder time keeping their hands clean and can be real careless in the bathroom. People need to wear nitrile or vinyl gloves and change them for each food that is handled.
