HI Denise---I'm thrilled that your Mom really enjoys her day care days! It is so good for her and helpful for you too. Your question about Medicare is on the minds of everyone nationally. There is currently a bill trying to make its way through Congress right now, HR 3043, to approve Medicare reimbursement for adult day care centers. We all expect/hope it to be approved this year or next. On May 14 and March 31, there were 2 NY Times articles (author, Paula Span) about adult day care and one is specific to your question. www.nadsa.org is the national adult day care website and on the left is a brief about HR3043. Private pay is certainly an option at any adult day care center. And if you have private, long term care insurance, it most likely will pay for adult day care as well.
