Good primer for new to caregiving but sets up some future ideas that needs evaluating mainly more patient one on one support. All of this proposes the patient is still cognitive.

I recommend that you do your research ahead of time. With my mom, changes in her living arrangements came with emergency situations so there wasn't time to do all of this checking. A good geriatric care manager has been a godsend too.

I like what you said about going back several times. That way you can be sure you like the environment they provide during all times of the day. My mother is looking for a home, so I will make sure we visit the places multiple times before choosing.

White it is great that there are so many choices for senior care, it is true that it can become somewhat overwhelming to choose between them. The amount of care seniors need can vary a lot, and it's important to meet their needs while letting them retain what independence they can. Also important to consider is the fact that these needs will likely change over time and it is important to adapt to the changes.

Wow. Great article and very informative. I'll keep this in mind. I agree that social isolation is a real problem and it is difficult to move a senior out of their home when they don't want to. This article gave some ideas for RSVP as an option.
