What is the incentive for young people, or any age person, to save for old age when these savings are taken for care when a person needs assisted living or nursing home cae? Now instead of skimping and saving for old age one enjoys and spends their income through the year the government will pay for their care. My question is why save for old age when the government will care for you?

I need some help in writing a letter to my boyfriend's daughter asking for back wages in caring for him. In August I was working part time for a non-profit organization making $65 a week. My boyfriend needed someone to stay with him full time so he asked me to quit my job and stay with him which I did. He said he would pay me $100 a week. I told his daughter that he had told me that. I quit in August 2007 and I asked him to pay me every 10 weeks instead of every week. He paid me $1000 in November for 10 weeks. From then until he died in March 2008 I did not receive anything. The total should have been around $1300. I need a letter to send to his daughter asking for this amount. I am 81 years of age and I could really use this money right now.
