The OPs original question mentioned a Fiduciary by name. I can only wonder that she wanted references or wanted to know if this was in our opinion a good fiduciary.
In general, the best Fiduciary advice comes from Elder Law or Trust and Estate attorneys because they typically work with them through the courts. Social services generally hesitates to give recommendations but attorneys will often supply a list. In some states, such as California they are licensed and you can look up the license to see if there are complaints against them.
Fiduciaries are held to the HIGHEST standards, and the movies you see about how awful or corrupt are movies. There may be some few corrupt persons in any profession, but a Fiduciary is help to high standards and where elder abuse is involves very few would risk messing around, imho.

I doubt that you will be so lucky on this worldwife forum as to find another with the same ficuciary. But you have every right to go to the court, if a family member, to ask to an accounting. Please seek an elder law attorney. While this may cost you anywhere from 350 to 700 an hour of time I think there can be no other substitute when there are things in question in an estate/ care of an elder with any amount of funds at disposal.
