Hi there! we're in the same boat. I'm so happy too for moonbeam about his or her search for a partner in life. he/she i guess is dating by now. How about you? As for me, I am searching. And I do it online only. I simply don't have the time, energy, money, nice clothes, nice shoes, etc etc to actively go the rounds of the bar or shops or restaurants to date several men for a period of many months. I just do it online & I really pray there would be the perfect match for me. I'm not getting any younger as they say. Been a single parent for almost 11 yrs now. Wow, I am encouraged by people like moonbeam and you.

Yeah I agree some men deliberately avoid us who are in this caregiving situation. It's not easy knowing that we have very real and difficult tasks on our hands and to add another man into the picture is a bit too crowded or complicated. How do u do it?

I send my hugs to you. We're in the same boat. I am almost 39 and still single all these years. I posted a similar question about a month ago, and the members of this site told me the same thing -- to go for it... go find the love of my life... to not wait for that tomorrow might not come... to hold on to love & life and not wait til i am too old to enjoy lovelife... etc etc... they're all very positive & encouraging words that I now follow. Best of luck to all of us caregivers! Cheers ! Hugs!

It's okay. It is very stressful, but it's still the right thing to do. You take care of family, and that is what you and I are doing. Hang in there :)

You are the first person I've read here that is in a similar situation to mine. I take care of my grandmother in her home, and she has advanced dementia and congestive heart failure. You mentioned that you can't move them out of their home or they would die. Exactly the same here. I feel like a nursing home will never be an option-she'd be dead within months. She is positive that nothing is wrong with her at all, and anything that would mess with that would kill her. Is that fair to either one of us? I don't know. but I wanted you to know that you are not alone in this-we are all here to support you. Take care of yourself, and go play with your puppies as often as you can :)
