About me
I have cared for my grandmother since my grandfather died of pancreatic cancer on April 3, 2006. She has multi-infarct dementia, osteoporosis, congestive heart failure, arthritis in both knees, and a whole host of other health problems. I live with her in her house and every day I watch her decline further and further. She also thinks that she can't get hurt no matter what she does, so I spend every single minute on pins and needles listening to her to make sure she's not trying to do something stupid. I also help my father take care of my mother who has had a minor stroke, has severe osteoarthritis in both knees, and is currently in remission for stage three uterine cancer. She, unlike Gram, refuses to do anything for herself that she can get someone else to do for her, and is currently houseridden because she refuses to walk anymore and can't do stairs. I spend my days running between the two houses, fully taking care of one and helping out with the other. Fun times are had by all.
