To quality for assisted living, seniors must meet certain requirements, including health and financial. Assisted living bridges the gap between home care and nursing homes. If a person needs round-the-clock health care, the assisted living facility will likely refer the person to skilled nursing. To pay for assisted living, some residents are “private pay” which means they or their family is responsible for the cost of assisted living, while other seniors may be eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, or veterans assistance to cover the cost.
