About me

I am a retired teacher who left my job after 32 years to take care of my dying father. When he passed away, mom came to live with us. We seem to make it work by setting boundaries and rules to her care. My husband has been so patient with me, and I am blessed. So glad to be part of this community. lovingdaughter

You are such a wonder person Nance...
I'm sure you are doing the right things and the move(s) sound 'timely'... We have to remember that we are all only human beings and we can only 'do' so much, eh?

Hello lovingdaughter! I had been wondering about you, after not reading many of your posts for awhile. Yes, the path we trod is a challenging one. I have some relief, but only to some extent, as we still have much to take care of. Mom's BPD/NPD (mental issues) and accompanying legal battles are the worse. Her "distortion campaigns" are getting to me, with fatigue also an enemy. I wish to escape in the worst way! But still keep trudging on...day by day. We are actually praying for a miracle. I do hope things smooth out for you. Best wishes again of the house, and with your mom. Hang in there. These are "golden years," aren't they? Bless you dear heart!

You ( or anyone) really does not have the right to "get rid of things" that do not belong to you. I might suggest that you " box" things and label them, put them aside, and then "clean".

Dear Loving Daughter, Linda, I'm touched by your words. Thank you. I'm so glad to call you sister. How's the sale or not sale of your house going? Or are you waiting to see how things land with your mom? I pray these matters go smooth, decently and in order. What do they say about your mom falling? A walker doesn't help? Is she losing ground in other areas, too? Sorry, as we grieve their decline, don't we? But then, it's part of the natural life cycle. Try to focus on the positive, and thanks for reminding me to count my blessings. You're one of them!

Have a blessed holiday and hope you get to meet my sister Pat she does wheat weaving right near the food area and the stage where they had great entertainment. She is always happy to explain her craft- I am her big sister, stop by to say hello to her if you are able.
