"We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do."
This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Potomac— and throughout Emeritus assisted living communities — has shared since 1999, when we opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful — a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care.
Set on beautifully landscaped grounds with an outdoor court yard and lovely gardens, Emeritus at Potomac is one of Maryland's premier assisted living and Alzheimer's communities. Our senior living community offers 103 apartments on three floors. Here our residents — in many cases, with their pets — enjoy retirement living. Yet a helping hand from our warm, caring staff is always close by.
Emeritus at Potomac also offers an innovative memory care program, Join Their Journey®, for seniors affected by Alzheimer's or dementia. Residents live in a separate secure area of our community. Because your family's experience will be unlike any other, our goal is to get to know you and your loved one, so that we can offer support and solutions for your individual situation. We "join the journey" of your loved one by recognizing individuality, encouraging choices and allowing residents the dignity to live in a secure, personalized and familiar setting that feels comfortable for them.
Our common areas — including our lovely dining room, library and TV room — give residents and their loved ones the opportunity to get to know one another. We also offer a wide range of activities each month, including clubs and trips to Washington, DC. Emeritus at Potomac is located in a residential area on the corner of Seven Locks Road and Tuckerman Lane, just across the street from a large shopping center. Two hospitals — Suburban Hospital and Shady Grove Hospital — and a nursing home rehabilitation center are also located in the area if ever needed.
