Community Etiquette

Like any other organized gathering of people, there are rules of etiquette that everyone is asked to follow when participating in the AgingCare.com community:

Guard your privacy and respect the privacy of others
Never share personal information – email address, phone numbers, etc. or ask for the same from others. For your own protection and privacy, it is never safe to give this information out on a discussion board.

Offer help and advice – but don’t self promote
Please respond to the topic at hand, but don’t promote your business in your posts. While discussion boards are great for sharing ideas and bonding with others, be sure you're adding something valuable to the "conversation."

Stay on topic
Stay on topic and discuss issues relative to the subject. If you want to discuss a different topic, start a new discussion board. When you do, be sure to change the Headline to clearly reflect the topic you want to discuss, so other members are aware of your discussion and can respond if they wish. If you have a message for an individual member you can post it to their wall which found on each members profile page.

Refrain from cutting-and-pasting into multiple boards
It’s called "cross-posting", which means posting a single message to several different discussion boards. Find the best place for your post, and confine your message to one board.

Refrain from using ALL CAPS
Typing in all capital letters is the equivalent of screaming at everyone. It also makes your message more difficult to read.

Keep it friendly
Don't post personal attacks, profanity, threats, or otherwise offensive language.

An important note to all AgingCare.com members
Our goal is to provide a forum in which caregivers can connect and keep in touch with each other. But we also want to prevent abuse of the community. Therefore, to protect our members, all discussions are reviewed by AgingCare.com staff. Posts that are inappropriate or self-promotional will be removed. If a member continues to break the rules, he or she can be banned from using our forums. If you feel that a discussion or a member is offensive or breaks any rules, please use the nifty "Suggest Removal" button, found on the bottom of all discussions, to notify us. Thanks to all our caregivers for making AgingCare.com a secure, effective place to connect with others!

Have fun and make new friends. You deserve it!
