Dementia Related Delirium

Dementia delirium is a progressive decline in memory and other cognitive areas such as attention, orientation, judgment, abstract thinking and personality. Dementia and delirium are actually two separate disorders, however patients with dementia are at increased risk of delirium and may have both. The risk factors for delirium include age, pre-existing brain disease and medications.  Dementia delirium is treatable with medication, but must first be diagnosed by a doctor.
