By Tues Sept 2. Its difficult to pick one out of a list, we rather get some reference from Drs around the area's of Pomona, Ontario, Montclair, Upland in those areas. She has IVHP, I could go into detail right now but I need to focus on a Dr at this point, we need more Dr's who are more compassionate with Dementia patients! I found an excellent Geriatrician for my husband by asking the specialist who followed his dementia. He asked his colleagues and together they came up with a name in my area. If Mom has a doctor you like and will be keeping you could ask for a recommendation in the specialty area you are seeking.
If you don't think the doctor you see on Tuesday is a good match, can you simply spend more time looking and change again?

Google Geriatitions in the areas you're interested in. Perhaps it will be helpful. Any geriatrician went into that specialty because of a special interest and, no doubt, sees dementia patients dozens of times a week.
