Carol Bradley Bursack, Mar 11, 2010
Over the span of two decades author, columnist and speaker Carol Bradley Bursack cared for a neighbor and six elderly family members. Because of this experience, Bradley Bursack created a portable support group, the book "Minding Our Elders: Caregivers Share Their Personal Stories."
They will be private pay as long as they have assets. If they are both in a nursing home and no one lives in the home, once their assets run out, Medicaid may want the house sold or put a lean on it. You'd have to check locally, as Medicaid is locally administered. But most likely, it will need to be sold or at least a lean will be placed against it for whatever they owe. An estate attorney or elder attorney could be useful here.Carol
