Any suggestions for having my 89 yr old mom still be able to put on her bra independently? The little hooks are just too hard for her. She has started just wearing it 24/7 so she doesn't have to struggle.

Easy use bras for post breast cancer surgery could also be a possibility.

I don't put my mother through the "bra" experience anymore. She wears t shirts, vests and camisoles under her shirts and sweaters. She is comfortable and happy and I just can't imagine her wrestling with bras and girdles of any kind. Easy on and off is the best wear for her.

Ah! I found something on Amazon -- a bra with a velcro front closure made for people with arthritis. That may be just what your mother needs.

It's okay to wear the bra all the time if it is a comfort bra -- the kind you can sleep in that don't bite or have underwires. She would still need help hooking them after she bathes. I can't think of a better solution. The type of bras that don't have hooks would probably be too hard for a frail person to wrestle with unless they were too large. That is an idea, though, since she may be comfortable with a too-large bra. Do you think a sports bra would work?

How about a bra that hooks in the front? I have them and they are great.

Would a camisole work just as well? We've gotten my 91 year old mom men's a - style undershirts, which work well.
