Hi onneil,

The most common form of cervical cancer starts with pre-cancerous cells. You can prevent the pre-cancerous cells that cause cervical cancer by practicing safe intercourse.

It is also important to get regular pap-smears to detect any pre-cancerous cells early on and remove them.

You can read more about it, in this article from the American Cancer Society:

http://www.cancer.org/docroot/CRI/content/CRI_2_4_2X_can_cervical_cancer_be_prevented_8.asp

Hope this helps out.
